The Society of Professional Consultants (SPC) - This non-profit, New England-based resource organization for consultants offers education, referral, networking and professional growth opportunities for its members.

Institute of Management Consultants USA (IMC USA) – This organization exists to establish professional and ethical standards for management consultants, to provide continuing education and information relevant to the profession, and to increase public awareness of the management consulting profession. The New England Chapter conducts 6-8 events a year between September and May.

The PricewaterhouseCoopers Money Tree Survey This site offers an excellent database tool for targeting start-up companies as well as venture capital funds. Both the start-up companies and vc funds can be searched on geographic and industry criteria. Links are generally provided to their websites.

VCBuzz Newsletter A free subscription newsletter delivered daily to your email address. It contains insight on the daily funding events occurring the Venture Capital world. It lists which companies have received funding and from whom.

Venture Capital News – Offers vc-related articles which can be searched by keyword, allowing you to target start-ups by location or industry. Site also offers a free email newsletter of venture capital activity.

Venture Capital Survey – A searchable database of U.S. firms that received venture capital financing during the previous year. The data was compiled from a Mercury News/PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP survey of venture capitalists. The data can be searched by quarter, partial company name, city or state.
